Heheh. What magic that was! Watching the record changer, that first hiss as the needle touched vinyl, the orange glow and heat from vacuum tubes, listening to music over woofers, mid-range, and tweeters. Playing our records when the parents were out, because we weren't supposed to touch the "Hi-Fi." Good fun.

WOW! Brings back a lot of memories! Beautiful "Hi-Fi", in those days it wasn't just a record player, it had to be a nice piece of furniture!
Hi-Fi was enhanced mono, they added just a bit of echo! Repaired some of those and lots of the tube type TV's, very technical, take the back off, turn it on, turn the lights out, replace the tube that did not glow......
"Bring back the Good Old Days"......

Thanks so much!

The fidelity of today's nice stuff is so much better than old vinyl, no rumble from the main bearing on the turntable, No wow and flutter because the table would not keep very accurate speed. But in it's day it was fine music, nice diamond stylus in a magnetic cartridge, just a different sound... but digital is a different world for sound, nice juke box in background....have a good day..

Oh, I still have the tapes I got while working at A&M Records in the 80's until the label was sold to Polygram. Love the sound of Tijuana Brass!

I love Herb Al pert and the TJ Band my parents had a similar unit in their house - not as easy to carry around as an iPod.

When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.
