A wink and a kiss, the most intimate of actions?

GratefulGirl69's post Pandora39s Winky Vid amp the 40 Meet Got me to thinking about intimate actions.

In her case it was a wink and the somewhat surprising thought that a wink is considered more intimate than other actions by some. This is something that I understand because to my mind a wink is open ended making it more personal. It can mean a joke, the acknowledgement of a secret, or a promise depending on who the receiver is.

This however did get my overactive mind thinking about other physical actions that can be considered as being the highest level of intimacy without being carnal. The mouth to mouth kiss comes immediately to mind. I have read and heard from many different sources that many prostitutes do not kiss their Johns, it is an intimacy barrier they prefer not to cross. I was the third for a married couple once that had mouth to mouth kissing of the wife listed as out of bounds. We made love, both orally and intercourse, I nibbled her ears, neck and massaged her whole body but when we were both satisfied her husband came over and gave her long deep kisses which soon get me ready to start back in on her! LOL

There are some niche porn vids (mostly Japanese I think) where the entire action is mouth to mouth kissing, usually two females. There is a lot of dancing darting tongues seeking, finding then slipping away and though this is not my thing I think I'd probably prefer it to the same length of video that just showed a cock ramming in and out of a cunt.

What say you? Is kissing the ultimate intimate action?

I've noted many profiles that are going on 10yrs old that have very infrequent visits and no picture updates. I will grant that some people would come around from time to time, pickup messages and maybe check out some new profiles but i have a god 30% of them in my narrow search.

I wonder if the site is triggering them occasionally to keep the member count up

How Obamacare proved that American Politics is beyond hope

So in 2010 the affordable care Act was passed without one republican vote.

After the smoke cleared it was apparent that this was a huge handout to the Insurance industry with the Fed Govt guaranteeing that the Ins companies would be paid for policies that people were forced to buy.

You would think that the republicans would be rubbing their hands like Lon Chaney in a silent movie thinking of ways to bend the rules to let their buddies in the insurance Industry know they were on board.

But no they were so single focused to make it a failure no matter what that they fudged it up in ways that caused premiums to skyrocket instead of doing away with it all together like they would have done if they gave two shits for the constituents . In 2011 I was a federal contractor with no health benefits (some real irony there) I signed the wife and I up for a sliver plan at $200 a month, a burden but bearable. In 2012 I got benefits and in 2015 we lost the contract and I was unemployed for a few months. I thought i'd check on insurance and the same plan was over $600 a month! So the republicans for no better reason than to thwart a democrat plan screwed the people and their buddies in the insurance industry. They managed to make it unpalatable to insurance companies so they left in droves doing away with competition and leaving the consumer butt fucked with no lube.

Obamacare was a bill the democrats wrote that the republicans should have loved but instead destroyed screwing the consumer while leaving the democrats largely blameless in the public eye.

i am no waiting for trump to champion single payer just to watch the dems piss all over it.

But I can't stay away!
No I am not talking about the Passion site but rather Ham radio. As a child of the CB craze days and drawn to electronics at an early age it's no wonder I became a Ham operator and now currently hold the highest class license. Before you all drop to your knees and pledge unending fealty this badge does not carry the distinction that it once did but I won't bore you with the details on this sore subject.

The Ham population, like that of America in general is aging but they are slightly ahead of the curve I am only about 10yrs out from retirement but hear many guys on the air that retired about the time I graduated from High school! The ham population is a little more affluent than the general population also and some spend insane amount of $ on their equipment. There is a contest operator who has probably somewhere around $100,000 in antennas and thrice that in radio gear not 5 miles from my house.

In it's heyday Ham was cutting edge, as recent as the mid-80's there was a nationwide radio web that could relay an email almost anywhere in the country within a day long before the web took hold. Today it is a quaint hobby trying to stay relevant but I still think it's cool as hell to hang a piece of random wire in your yard and with a small radio that can be ran on a car battery talk to Europe, Africa or even Japan.

Any way what I am getting too old for is the tower work that is involved with erecting towers and antennas but like in high end audio the end of the chain is the most crucial so when a good deal comes along I put on my belt drag out my tools and play monkey so today found me at 70' in the air on my tiptoes loosening bolts to drop an antenna in preparation to drop the tower next weekend to take to the farm in Ky.

I had #1 son with me and tried to entice an interest in him for this work because it is lucrative and my experience could give him a big leg up no pun intended. But he's too smart for that crap so poor old dad is still the main monkey.

Russian Collusion and why we are Fucked!

So the Russians stuck their nasty little red fingers in the POTUS election of 2016.

The Russians were in contact with both candidates teams before the election but Trumps people either more hungry or competent followed up more consistently.

Some Russian Oligarchs funneled money through shell accounts and posted fake stories on FB and other social media. This is not surprising to me, when I did a research paper on FB in 2010 prior to it going public Forester research reported that the 2nd biggest private investor in FB was a Russian national. Russian money is everywhere trying to buy influence to make up for their fall post USSR breakup.

Trump had some guys in his campaign who had shady dealings with Ukraine before the campaign even started. Mueller has had these investigation rolled into the Russian election tampering investigation which to me is further evidence of how politicized the FBI has become.

Now nearly two and millions of dollars later the press is still beating the drum that Trump was personally involved in this and maybe they will eventually find a smoking gun and Trump will fall. The result will be President Pence who is somewhere to the right of Attila the Hun.

In the meantime has anybody bothered to ask the question, who changed their vote due to Russian interference? With the highly charged campaign in 2016 you had Hillary Clinton who a near majority would not vote for should she be running unopposed and Donald Trump who a near majority voted for just to thumb their nose at the party elites. I don't think that if the Russians swayed every single undecided voter it would have changed the results one way or the other.

This whole thing does give the press and the party power structure from both parties cover to bury their heads in the sand for at least another 4 and ignore the fact that they are screwing the vast majority of the american people either through will inaction or downright self serving bullshit legislation that does nothing outside the beltway.

The perfect job

It seems few are lucky enough to have a job they really love. I am one of those lucky few! I have of course worked for companies I wasn't too happy with and a couple crappy bosses but when all that is shoved aside and you expose what my job actually is I love it, I am made for it and I am great at it!. (I have a wall full of awards to prove it)

What do I do?

Glad you asked! I maintain, and modify when required complex computer controlled electro-mechanical devices. aka I baby sit equipment.

Working out of my home I have some freedom at scheduling my work and even when I average 50hrs a week I have more family time than a 9-5 worker.

There are the usual perks (some I could do without, like a company car) Training is always provided for free and often includes a trip to someplace new if not nice.

I get to build relationships with customers without the over exposure that being with someone every day brings.

The minute I arrive onsite I am recognized as the most knowledgeable person in the building on the equipment I am responsible for (whether that is true or not) and the responsibility to set things right is mine.

It is a job that requires a high level of organization, discipline, technical know how and most difficult of all customer handling skills. It is a rewarding position with a 6 figure income well within reach if you are solid and in the right type of equipment.

It has allowed the wife and I up to this point to raise 5 children without her working outside the home. Money is tight but we made a full time parent top priority and so far we've held to it. #1 son is interviewing for his first job now so getting him on the proper path to self sufficiency will be a big step!

I've been doing this since my first job out of the Marines when I took a position in Houston servicing equipment used in offshore navigation nets for oil exploration and pipe-laying. The equipment was French made and quite complex and fascinating. I have since worked in medical devices, precision manufacturing quality control and security screening X-rays.

I am on the downward slope toward retirement but am not coasting but still always looking for that next neat technology to engage my brain on!

While Cruising blogs this AM I found 40Duece's blog which is full of streaming consciousness funny shit. Believe it or not 20 years ago I was much the same. Blame it on kids, looming retirement or just plain old age but I just don't have the energy to generate that spontaneous free flowing stuff anymore.

I do greatly enjoy reading it and think he should get many more comments than he does on his efforts. Check him out!

Interesting stories from history

During my workouts a few years back I started listening to Will Durant's "Story of Civilization". An 11 volume set that took 45yrs to write it is the definitive macro History work on western civilization IMHO.. Will's formal schooling was in philosophy and he maintains a detached philosophical outlook when describing happenings that are in turn amusing and interesting sprinkled with occasional brilliant insights that give you a different way of looking at things.

For example when he went into some depth on the development of the slide rule during the mid 17th-early 18th centuries he noted that the refinement and widespread use of this tool had the effect of extending the life of an engineer because so much more work could be done in a given time.

For interesting there is the story of a 15th century German queen who married at the age of 40 a younger minor king of a neighbor. This was of course done in hopes that their child would make for a stronger kingdom that could challenge other larger kingdoms. When she became pregnant rumors started that this was a ploy to secure the alliance so she had a tent erected in the town square and made the birthing public all were invited!

For Humorous we have two 18th century members of the English parliament who had a lifelong antagonism. When things were reaching the peak where one side or the other must win during a debate the first said. "It is very sad that what has become of this members life. Other members of this body place odds on whether his death will be from alcohol consumption or syphilis, it is my opinion that it will be the latter" At this point the other stood up and said "Be of good cheer for if I embrace your principals with one arm and your wife with the other you shall win your bet!"

Photographs and memories

You can just hear the opening chords and the gravely voice of Jim, can't you??!

I had a though that a telling indicator of personality or predilection would be one's initial thoughts at seeing old photographs. They could tell if you are a poet, philosopher or scientist at heart.

That picture of your first car, do you first think of running the back roads, Maybe with a girl looking for a place to park or do you think about the lousy shocks it had and turning the air cleaner lid upside down to make it sound meaner?

Pictures of a vacation 20 yrs ago do you think about the great sights, an interesting person you met on the road or do you think about how much it rained and changing routes to try and avoid it?

On the same subject I believe a tipping point in age is when music evokes memories more often than emotions....

The other third rail; Immigration!

. Another hot button topic that though it may have more substance in public discourse than most still seems to miss the mark at defining where and what the change should be.

Lets start with some facts;
1. we all benefit in some way from illegal immigration.
You don't think so? Almost any semi skilled manual job in the U.S. is staffed at least in part by illegals who work at below prevailing wage making the service affordable. Many illegals have kids who are growing up in America and becoming college educated and productive citizens.

2. We are all harmed by illegal immigration on some way.
Whether it be the skewing lower of the wage scale, higher crime or decreased tax base all of us are feeling in impact of illegals.

3. Nobody can with any assurance quantify the pros and cons and come up with a final tally there are just too many intangibles.

So where do we go from here? First we can't deport some 13-18 million people and their families, We can give them status and make them pay for it but again weighing the + and - then coming up with an accurate balance will probably prove impossible.

We can close down the borders, there has been more accomplished there than the media is reporting but a better solution is removing the desire to come here by making things better in the home country and we should be putting much more emphasis on this aspect of immigration.

Demonizing the immigrant is a no win situation, they put themselves at great risk to come here in an effort to better their lives and in pushing them away you are opening the door for shady characters of all sorts to manipulate them and turn them against us.

I am against illegal immigration and we need a policy and the resources to bring it to a halt but if we don't get our minds straight on the issue we will do more harm than good

I mentioned a few posts back that I went home for the weekend. one of the events I attended was a class reunion. I am far enough removed from schooldays that we are all "adults" now and most of us have grown children and some of us have reached the dreaded grandparent age! Still it is inevitable that the jocks huddle together, the socialites gather in their circle and the nerds sit at a table and watch. I was always the free ranging guy drifting from group to group, not really a member of any but accepted by most. Recognized as one of the smartest people in my class with bad grades, who ran track and wrestled when not smoking dope. I and a couple of my closest friends had that long view that HS wasn't all that important as far as the overall scorecard for a successful life goes. So maybe us three were our own clique but we really didn't hang together outside of school. So as the evening progressed and we all went through our scripted roles I couldn't help but wonder how many were comfortable and how many had regrets or wanted to ad lib.

Most of us walk the comfortable path most of the time. To my mind that path must become ever more narrow until you have no room for deviation.

Is this the definition of getting old?

That damned baggage

We all have it and as we get older seem to accumulate more and more of it.

Some of us put it in a corner and pretend never to look at it.

Others drag that shit out and beat everyone over the head with it at the drop of a hat.

I for one try to follow the advice of that noted philosopher Andre Agassi who's catch-phase in the Cannon commercials was "Attitude is everything"

I have been stabbed in the back in the workplace as well as in my personal life but I refuse to dwell on it and let it steal my joy and eat my soul.

My posts here are not meant to be a whine fest (unless I specifically say it is) but rather an observation whose verbalization is a process at cataloging and storing away.

We all have baggage, does your baggage define you?
