The shit you hear about people is just fucking amazing sometimes. I’ve come to expect and not be surprised to hear about the stupid stuff that Johnny Manziel does because he is ‘Johnny Loser’. But then I have to wonder . . .

Who in their right fucking mind would rent a house to Johnny Manziel? Really ! ? !

Or, as Denzel Washington’s character Coach Boone said “boy you must be outside your mind!”

Given the occurrences that have happened at political gatherings including one in Florida and the guy’s comments afterwards and the incident this evening in Chicago – my questions are:

Do ISIS or Al Qaeda et al really have to attack/terrorize us or is all they have to do now is watch our own factions do the job to ourselves?

Are we becoming them or are we there now?

An Interesting Conversation With SiteSupport

With the “Admin” access issue happening again I was asked by sitesupport to call them to describe/discuss the problem. After getting through the offshore “customer service” people and to Leo (the upper level of SiteSupport) it took all of about 5 minutes to get that part of our discussion done. They had elevated the problem to their development (programmers) to fix. And yes, I could have deleted a bunch of postings and comments I find objectionable – but I didn’t. You’re welcome.

Then he and I had about an hour long discussion about the site and problems and how sitesupport (they are not the offshore “customer service” people who initially answer the phone) is involved and what they see. I have to say he comes across as an intelligent and thoughtful guy who, in some aspects, is between 2 semi-opposing forces or a rock and a hard place. One side being the people “above his pay grade” a.k.a. corporate (marketing, legal and the developers). The other side being the large variety of members and their very diverse of wants, needs, situations, expectations (reasonable or otherwise) and how what some people do (or don’t do) effects the site’s operation. More on that later.

I also have to give him credit for listening, paying attention and getting what I was saying – his responses and info made it sound like he has heard a lot of the complaints and gets what goes on with the site(s). All of what he said made total sense to me and I believe all of what he said and that his interest was genuine. In other words I don’t believe I was fed any corporate BS. What, IMO, we the members need to understand is that SiteSupport are not the ones responsible for the problems and they have to weight what they hear with what they know is happening and sometimes have no control over. It is also important to know and understand that there are a number of sites (A*F*F/Pazzion and many others), and interests, that come together in one place. Those interests and people aren’t always completely compatible.

I told him that 90% of what I do on the site was blogging and asked what percent of the active membership are regular bloggers. The answer was less than 5%, but bloggers and group members are important as we are vocal about issues and many are knowledgeable and articulate.

He acknowledged that SiteSupport, and the site(s) overall, could be more proactive in letting the membership know about changes that are coming (and why) and problems that are happening. The reasons why may not be all what y’all think they are. For instance, the email change was in part an attempt to address complaints about the number of “fake/scam” accounts on the site(s). The idea is that “fake/scam” accounts would be less prone to pay. This is something I would like to discuss with him further.

As far as thoughts expressed that the blogs would become a pay for feature. He indicated the blogs are important to them and acknowledged that making it a pay for thing would lose them a number of members (including me).

There have been thoughts, based on member input, about certain features becoming a piecemeal (ala Carte) pay for usage thing since not all people use all of the features of the site(s). But there are no known plans or decisions at this point. Given what he said I would doubt that would happen with the blogs.

Regarding the IM issues. A big IM issue is people on phones not logging off. This makes the IM still see people as being on IM when they really aren’t. So in effect if you don’t log off you are the problem.

There was more we talked about but I want to get this posted up soon I will stop here. I plan to post more a bit later, but I would like to hear your input on this much first.

BTW, he offered me a 2-week free membership; I declined and explained why. As I have said before, there are very few women in my area to contact so it wouldn’t be useful to me. I did say if he could send me an available woman in my area I would accept her as a gift. Just sayin . . .

FWIW, I am linking this post to the sitesupport Blog and I am inviting Leo, or any of the guys there, to provide some input (corrections, clarifications or whatever) on what I have posted, or on any of your comments.

Your questions, answers or comments (agreeing or disagreeing in a respectful way) are encouraged and welcome.

Have You Been Hurt And What Do You Learn?

This question is somewhat of a follow up to a recent post Do You Know.

It is also in regard to something someone wrote to me: “Once you've been screwed around by (people) time after time it makes one gun shy, if you know what I mean. So I learned a along time ago when I start to trust someone or lean on someone, I am going to get screwed one way or the other it is an almost certainty for me. So I don't see the point in being let down time and time again.”

The question as I first was thinking about it is. Do you hold past hurts against people in your present life? Or to spell it out in a bit more detail . . .

If a person, or persons, of the opposite sex in your past have lied to you, or used you, or done something wrong to you . . . do you act, or think, or believe, that all people of the opposite sex will do the same and treat them as if they will?

List Changes and A Site Response

Lost in some of the missing comments glitch problem is another change the site has made. While I don’t pay a lot of attention to the Hot list, Flirt list and Viewed list I have read about bloggers not being able to figure out what is going on with them. It is pretty simple there have been changes to the settings. The timeline for the “Added in the last 90 days” used to be 30 days. There is a response on the [post 3771522] about this based on a question sphx posted on 2/27/2016. It says:

A new filter was added in the left column to only show activity "Added in last 90 days". Members should be advised to uncheck this box if they want to see all the results.”

If y’all could spread this info the complaint posts may slow down some, because to be frank – the complaints are boring.

And The Answer About The MiA Comments Is . . .

I asked about the comments that went missing being restored [post 3784386] and just got the answer from the SiteSupport blog:
redrockrascal,

Thanks for posting. We posed the same question to development, unfortunately, no, those comments will not be able to be restored. Root cause of the issue was with content approval. As you know all content submitted by members on the site is reviewed, in this case the blog comment creates a comment ID, on review of that comment posted, text was being blanked out however the comment ID remained which is why members see pending. There is a record of the comment however that record is blank. We've anticipated this concern from the community and tried to be proactive with the development team however due to the circumstance the content linked to those comment IDs are simply blank and cannot be restored. Our apologies.

Leo

This is just a guess on my part but . . I think the meaning of "Root cause of the issue was with content approval" is that the "censoring" program took a bit of a crap in it's diapers.

Definition: Know, verb
To have developed a relationship with (someone) through meeting and spending time with them; be familiar or friendly with.

Do people (any males or any females, in any combination) who connect online and do not meet in person really “know” each other?

Mutual Assured Destruction (MAD) is a strategy belief, and policy, wherein a full-scale use of nuclear weapons by two or more opposing sides would cause the complete annihilation the attacker, the defender and most everything around them.

No long detailed analysis on today's game. I do not like the donkeys – I am a silver and black lifelong RAIDER baby! ! But I would like to see Peyton win. That would also most likely mean he retires and I like watching him play.

If the Broncos keep it close until the 4th qtr they could (that is Could not will) win. If the Panthers take a large lead into the 4th, as I think they might, it is most likely over. However, if anyone can lead a team back Peyton can.

It looks like it will be a Panther win.
