Yet another Doppelgangbanger has been discovered in the wilds of outer blogland.
Rumors have it that these guys look a lot like a blogger here.

Do these pics remind you of a certain blogger?

Once again props to Lala [blog BiggLala] on the Becker pic.

Geez, the rockers all seem to be heading out of here fast right now. Paul Kantner was a founding member of Jefferson Airplane, he was 74 and had a heart attack. I was a fan of their music and Grace Slick’s vocals.

Misdirected Posts and Customer Service

First, I will reiterate that posts are NOT being deleted; they are being misdirected to very old posts (some from 2005) that were deleted. Just look at the post number at the bottom of the page. Again your post(s) have NOT been deleted. The posts people say are “deleted” are visible/readable on the blogger’s main blog page but when you click to get on the post (so you can comment) that is when you are misdirected.

Anyway, I tried to report the problems as described in [post 3768595] and [post 3768807] and I essentially got nowhere. First, I have very little tolerance for stupid and “customer service” people who don’t listen to the situation. So that is in part why I got nowhere.

I got through fairly quickly and got a woman who gave me a phony sounding name “Sunshine Something”, no big problem really – just sayin. She asked for the site, my screen name, and password. I gave the first 2 but I never give out any password no matter what the reason. So I said, “I don’t recall it”, which I don’t it is in my computer – so she wanted to send a change pw email. I told her the problem isn’t with my account, and there are a bunch of posts about the problem if they would read them. She said they do read some posts and wanted to get into my account again. I then told her the problem and she wanted my password again top look at my account. At this point I figured I was talking to someone who wasn’t listening and was not going to and said goodbye.

If someone wants to deal with their paying no attention service go for it, and Laissez les bon temps roulez!

Since there is no indication that they even know of the problem, or care, I would suggest the Virtual Symposium be postponed until things get cleared up.

UPDATE: According to SexySixties2 message below . . . they replied to her email and said they were aware of the problem, which has been passed to their programming section that would look into the matter as soon as possible. They gave her a bug number #CD-33555.

On 1/2/2016 I submitted the following to the SiteSupport Blog page:
On the main blog page the section where the “Where I’m Quoted” and “Browse by Location” has shifted to under the “Total Posts” location.”

On 1/27/2016 (today) I received the following response:
" The main blog page has been going through some design changes so that's why you are seeing things show up a little differently then what your used to ."

NFL Conference Championship Game Picks

No major weather concerns are expected for either game. By kickoff, temperatures are expected to be the mid-30s to 40s. Hopefully the officiating is as close to perfect as possible. Both games have the potential to go either way and are hard to pick they should be memorable. I seem to be going totally against the grain but, a Cards v donkeys Super Bowl could be a very interesting game.

Patriots (12-4) at Broncos (12-4)
Rematch: Wk 12 donkeys won 30 – 24. PM & TB are = in the playoffs 2 – 2 (all were AFC Champ games and home QB won. Broncos were in a soft division except for KC (split). They also played weak North teams and Vikes weren’t sharp. They did have some tough opponents too Cincy, Pitt (. I have a feeling PM will set the receivers straight. But there is a question as to whether he is 100% (foot) and making adjustments. Donkeys have a very good D and patsies O line is average.

The patsies were in a strong division and split with Jets & Dolphins. They played weak teams in the AFC North & South and NFC East. They did have one tough opponent Pitt. They have much of their guys back from injuries in the last game they met. Gronk, Edelman and Amendola are all playing and are significant weapons. I'm going against the trend - donkeys at home

Cardinals (13-3) at Panthers (15-1)
Palmer v Newton is the 1st time Heisman QBs face off in an NFL playoff game and both are en fuego. Palmer and their O are strong and Arians calls a very aggressive game. The D is equally aggressive. But should avoid being over aggressive. Cards are tough all around. Cards were in an average division except for SEA. They had weak opponents in the Northern divisions and Vikes weren’t sharp. There were tough opponents too Cincy, Pitt (.

Cam/Olsen/the Cat’s D are a big challenge. Jared Allen is out. Panthers were in a soft division so there are some of their wins. They also played the weak AFC South and NFC East. The Cardinals may be their hardest opponent this year. Panthers are tough all around, but give up most 4th qtr points. Against the trend here too Cardinals

The Soundtrack of YOUR Life – What Is Yours?

To me the purpose of this site(s), and blogging in particular, is to connect with other people – in a positive way. Lately things have not been that way here so instead of the anti-social drivel . . . a thought came to mind, while driving of course, about something almost all of us could write about. The thought initially started when I read and responded to the replies I got when I posted Soundtrack Of My Life R I P Glenn Frey his passing has me a bit bummed. Our lil red Author’s response made me think further and it hit a nerve like when Snook said, “It's like losing a friend”, it was similar to when I heard John Lennon died.

While I was driving was when I wondered what other people’s musical tastes are and what they listened to when they were younger and now. What were the lyrics that made a particular song or songs or performer important or memorable to you? The type of music doesn’t really matter; it is, in part, to get to know people here better by learning about their lives through their musical tastes.

What I intend to write about is what happened, when, who was involved and the music that accompanied the times. My posts on this will probably be in a few parts. Perhaps, your memories will spark some of mine or the memories of others. Also, part of this is my interest in the performers in the various groups and how I like learning about the history and influences of bands and how their sound can shift some when a member leaves or a new one joins.

We have lost a number of memorable musicians in the last year so this could also be a tribute to them in our own little way. The ones I found in no particular order:
Glenn Frey
David Bowie
B B King – The King of Blues
Natalie Cole – singer and of Nat King Cole
Mic Gillette – first trumpet and founding member of Tower of Power
Ben E. King – originally of The Drifters and solo singer/writer
Andy Fraser – Bassist for Free co-wrote “All Right Now”
Lynn Anderson – Best known for “I Never Promised You A Rose Garden”
Mike Porcaro – Bassist for Toto
Gary Richrath – Guitarist for REO Speedwagon
Chris Squire – founding member of Yes
William Guest – singer and member of Gladys Knight & the Pips
Cynthia Robinson – trumpeter and original member of Sly and the Family Stone
P.F. Sloan – songwriter of "Eve of Destruction" and "Secret Agent Man,"
Dennis Greene – a founding member of Sha Na Na
Lesley Gore – Best known for "You Don't Own Me" and "It's My Party"
Willie C. Jackson – member of The Spaniels "Goodnite, Sweetheart, Goodnite"
Brian Carman – Guitarist of The Chantays “Pipeline”
Jimmy Greenspoon – Keyboardist/singer Three Night
Michael Brown – Keyboardist The Left Banke “Walk Away Renee”
Bob Burns – Drummer Lynyrd Skynyrd “Free Bird”
Percy Sledge – “When A Man Loves A Woman”
Wally Lester – member of The Skyliners “Since I Don’t Have You”
Jack Ely – Singer/guitarist The Kingsmen “Louie Louie”
Ronnie Gilbert – The Weavers "This Land Is Your Land"

If you think this is a good idea please post up our version of The Soundtrack Of YOUR Life because I would be interested in reading what your musical tastes and backgrounds are. Also, there are a lot of other bloggers who don’t read my posts but do read yours so again if you think this is a good idea please suggest it to your readers. I would love to read a post on your blog about your musical tastes. Post a link here if you do write one. Let me know what ya think?

Soundtrack Of My Life – R I P Glenn Frey

It is kind of a weird thing for me to have posted about my first year of blogging about parts of my life My First Year Of Blogging Here within an half hour of when I read, here, that Glenn Frey had passed. Frey and Don Henley formed the Eagles in my SoCal hometown and they lived close to me. Frey and The Eagles are/were the soundtrack of my life. Like many guys I was in lust with Linda Ronstadt, this was also when I first learned of Glenn Frey and the guys who eventually became The Eagles. The first song of theirs I ever heard was “Witchy Woman” soon followed by “Take It Easy” and “Peaceful Easy Feeling”. The last 2 made “country” sounding music palatable and interesting as hell – I was hooked.

Then I heard 1 of 2 songs that describe me, in the past and in some ways still – “Desperado”. I’ll let you ponder on what parts and when. The other was “James Dean”. When my pals heard the lyrics, “Sock hop, soda pop, basketball and auto shop, The only thing that got you off was breakin' all the rules” they said “that’s you clown”. Everyone loved telling the story of our senior year when a couple guys and me brought our dirt bikes to high school one afternoon – we had “a plan”. The running track was on the far side of the campus and at the farthest corner (behind the grandstands) was a vehicle gate, which lead on to the track. “The plan” was to see how many laps flat track style (no brakes all gas) we could do before someone caught us. The answer was 1 and about a quarter. As we came down the “back straight”, toward the coach’s offices, 2 of them ran out of the office and to the edge of the track. That was just as we had come out of a corner and cranked up the gas. When we saw those 2 big guys in white polo shirts and we were all over the brakes, then we turned tail a got the hell outta Dodge and the neighborhood. We strolled back into school the next day and everyone was looking at us like we were guilty of something. Huh, what? Luckily we were only some of the many likely suspects, no one knew who for sure, except for a few other guys. It was announced at a grad party who the “culprits” were – no one was surprised. But I’ve digressed.

That story was told over many refreshing beverages at a local bar (The Oar House/Buffalo Chips) where we misspent a lot of time ‘Any time of year, you could find us there’, it was – ‘a lovely place’. The bar always cranked up the Joe Walsh songs especially “Rocky Mountain Way” and "Walk Away" – I “perfected” my air guitar there. Then Joe joined the Eagles and Frey for "Hotel California" written by Frey and Henley – Walsh and Frey were together, life was insanely fun. But when they broke up “All Ready Gone” took on a sadder meaning.

Then the 80s came along and I was able to get into auto racing. We often had to get up early AMs to get to the track – that required music to wake myself and the crew with. “The Heat Is On” by Glenn Frey was one of the go to songs we cranked up. The 80s also gave us “Miami Vice” (yup I liked it) and Glenn Frey’s character was one I liked along with Elvis the gator. My g/f remembered I had a stuffed gator I had won as a carnival prize; it became “Elvis The Racin Gator”. He rode in the car, belted in the passenger space from ’84 – ‘88. Also from Frey and Miami Vice came “You Belong To The City”. The g/f and I were kind of sick of the big city really and talked about getting out but didn’t have any idea where we wanted to go. In my mind I was “All Ready Gone” and eventually left, she stayed.

In 2012 I had a profile on a vanilla site. It wasn’t getting me much “action” so I added something I heard while listening to the radio. “One Of These Nights” came on and the line “I've been searching for the of the devil himself, I've been searching for an angel in white. I've been waiting for a woman who's a little of both”. I thought that was kind of what/who I am looking for and I placed it on the profile with a line that read: ‘If you know where this came from we may be a good match’. A day later I got a message from a woman that read “The Eagles of course”. I have mentioned her, “MG”, here a few times last time being here: My First Year Of Blogging Here . She is also the subject of a post which is brewing about domestic violence and she is who I was thinking of when I wrote the DV part of this post Not Just In October . With her there is also a hint of “Desperado” in the background, “Don't you draw the Queen of Diamonds boy She'll beat you if she's able . . . But you only want the ones that you can't get“. That situation is what eventually lead me to A*F*F/Pazzion and “One Of These Nights” is part of my profile here.

Those lyrics came into play again when I was contacted last year by the first woman, ST, I mentioned in my My First Year Of Blogging Here post. She is also a big Eagles fan. Our first two dates included, in part; watching, “singing” and playing air guitar to the “Farewell 1 Tour” DVD – we had fun doing that and watching the outtakes and interviews. It is a great concert; 2 really, one acoustic and one full blown crank it WAY UP rock. If you want to see Glenn and Joe playing lights out great, having fun with and appreciating each other I highly recommend you get that DVD.

I’ve also posted about or mentioned Frey/Eagles songs in other posts here. On a full moon post Since it is a Full Moon, which was in response to Lala’s post [post 3686529] and on Food For Thought I Cant Tell You Why . And, throughout the years “All Ready Gone” has played a part for obvious reasons. My favorite line from that is “You can see the stars and still not see the light” . . . that’s right.

The Eagles are one of the few bands I bought every album of vs. just a greatest hits recording, and I had that too. There is a lot more I could write cause I haven’t even mentioned half of Glenn Frey’s songs. He is someone I would loved to have met and be able to hang around with when he was telling the stories from the days. My only regret is I never had the funds to see Eagles in concert and now I am bummed that I never will. When I look up in the sky and see the stars I’ll see Glenn Frey and raise a glass of pink champagne on ice. There is a hole in the world . . .

I give my most sincere honor and sincerely thank The Eagles and Glenn Frey for their big part in the soundtrack of my life. Glenn, you have earned a Peaceful Easy Forever . . . R I P Glenn Frey.

Some women you just can't reach. So you get what we had here, which is the way she wants it. Well, she gets it. I don't like it any more than you.’

First . . . NO . . . this is not the start of another dumb assed blog war . . . unless ‘she wants it’ . . . to start one that is. She, of course, is Lala of the Lalaverse.

The source of my righteous rightness comes from this post [post 3764265] . Read it . . . please . . . it is funny and see what the reason she says “Yes, you're correct”.

Now one would think that a person would know me pretty well having read my post 25 Things About Me . And particularly item #20 which reads, and I quote: “I am annoyingly good at naming that tune.” This refers to my knowledge of music and please note – 2 of the most important words in that phrase “annoyingly good”. We all know I can be terribly annoying, just ask Mc and Kzoo’s goat(s) and a host of others. And that doesn’t even include my football nemisis’, or is that nemisii, or nemisuses, or nemisisi’s . . . whatev’.

The point is, and often is, I WAS RIGHT . . . AGAIN ! ! ! Or to paraphrase Lala: ‘I. Was. Right.’ Hey there is another acronym we could use – IWR.

Of course I would be remiss if I didn’t quote Miss L so here it is in full:
Yes, you're correct...Chuck did give Maybelline's a bad name. I was thinking of Lucille. The thrill is gone.

Yes...I said it OKAY?!?!?!? You. Were. Right. Yeah, yeah...I know you're going to run and blog ALL about it... *rolling my eyes*....!!!

*mumbling as I walk away*...'Geez, you'd think a guy was never right before...always has to rub it in somebody's face...Lala said I'm right, she said I'm right...#@&*!@#

Update: ADMIN: Review Problem And A Bit More

Y’all may recall the issues the site had on 1/11/2016 that I posted about: ADMIN review . I also posted to the SiteSupport blog that here were significant problems going on. It seemed like everyone had admin access – because they did. Lala put up a post as a test and I was able to delete it. The situation cleared up an hour or so later and I thought nothing of it after that.

Wordsmith/last_post responded to my post as follows:
with any kind of luck, you might get one of those "I logged on using your ID but was unable to reproduce the problem" replies in about two weeks!
His account was later closed by the site.

He wasn’t as far off as I thought he might have been. I got 2 responses today 1/19/16 . . . 8 days later. I have placed in bold and/or red the interesting parts of their response. Here is what I wrote and their response today:
= = = = = = =
I wrote:
The words ADMIN: review=Y, id=###
Are showing on ALL messages and responses along with some other ADMIN looking things

SiteSupport responded:
Thank you for the post. We are aware that the admin messages were showing for some members. Currently there is also a red using node banner for some members of IM.

All of these are from testing with new, upgraded hardware and I'm not sure how long they will be visible.

And

I wrote:
The words "ADMIN ONLY: PROFILE V2" are showing at the top of profile pages

SiteSupport responded:
Just a quick repeat. We are aware of the "admin-y" stuff that had been showing and the "admin-y" stuff that continues to show. I don't have an ETA at this time for when we can expect it all to be gone.
= = = = = = =

Note that things are “Currently” and “continues” to be going on. The answers are curiouser that the original issue. Hummm just sayin

My First Year Of Blogging Here
Posted:Jan 18, 2016 2:07 pm
Last Updated:Dec 31, 2016 6:56 pm
17228 Views

I’ve been on the A*F*F/Pazzion site, on and off, since 12/2103 and blogging since January 2015. Here are some (not all) assorted things I have learned, experienced and posted about in that year.

Some things I learned from blogging here:
- The more different we say others are the more same we are.
- Men and women probably lie on their profiles etc. equally. One difference may be in what they lie about.
- There is a lot of antisocial stuff going on for a place that is supposed to be a “social network”.
- FWB has more meanings than I could have imagined.
- Saying you’re good at something is bad. Saying you’re “vanilla” is effectively a death sentence.
- “No drama” means ‘I have tons of drama’. This applies to vanilla “dating” sites too, maybe more so.
- Women want guys to just “be who you really are” and looks don’t matter that much. But don’t have a beard and/or hair and don’t be “vanilla”.
- Paying to be a member here isn’t much different than being a non-paying member.

My year sex-wise here:
I met a woman here "ST" and we had “fun” (in & out) for about 3 months, then she didn’t like one of my posts and went silent. But she kept viewing my profile and I said “hi” each time. A month later she said “I got my panties in a bunch” and went silent again. WTF

There was another woman and we had some “fun” together, after a month or so she went silent. A few weeks later, she said I wasn’t interested in her – I told her I was and she went silent again. WTF

A third woman contacted me via IM, she started the conversation with “wanna play”. We did, knowing, going into it, it would be a one-night thing – and it was.

Other Stuff:
- Now that I can’t find the software for my camera I get asked for dick, and other, pics. Really, WTF
- WTF should be a word.
- Subject to a few exceptions . . . If you don’t get a local woman’s phone number within a couple days (a week max) of contact here you probably won’t end up meeting. If you don’t meet her within a week or so (2 weeks max) of getting her phone number you probably won’t end up meeting.

Things I blogged about:
In my years on this planet I have learned at least one thing. There are “good” and “bad” aspects of most things that happen. Here are a few of mine for 2015.

Good: An ex-g/f “MG” came to me when her b/f “verbally and emotionally abused” her.
Bad: Within 3 months of that she married him. WTF

Good: Dude (my lil cat buddy) was in my life – Heeeerrres Dude a picture
Bad: He was in pain and had to be put to sleep. He was only 6 years old and did not deserve to be gone so soon. I miss my little buddy a lot.

Good: My friend Donald was in my life – we had some fun times.
Bad: He couldn’t kick his alcohol habit and died from it – Alcohol amp Final Lap

Good: My ex-Kath was around to help get me through an unexpected hospital stay and with Dude and Donald’s passing.
There are no negatives with her.

NFL Divisional Playoff Game Picks

3 out of 4 this week
Before I get to my picks I want to send out positive thoughts and vibes and I ask for those who read this to do the same. This is for a class guy and Viet vet, Chris Mortensen who has been diagnosed with Stage 4 throat cancer. Since I work mostly from home I watch ESPN during my lunch breaks during the NFL season. A significant amount of my info for these picks come from C Mort and ESPN.

Also: R I P Ted Marchibroda.

There will be cold in the open stadiums but weather doesn’t seem too be much of an issue for this weeks games, except in New England.

All these games have a good potential to go either way and they should be good games.
Saturday
Chiefs (11-5) Patriots (12-4) Forecast: cold and possible wind may affect passing and kicking.Chiefs have a tough D, and Smith is smart with the ball but Maclin may be out. Their run game should help in the cold.Gronk has knee/back issues, Edelman is back for Boris’ patsies. Chiefs keep rolling (just a gut feeling).
UPDATE: Maclin will play.

Packers (10-6) Cardinals (13-3) Rematch: Cards won 38 – 8. Score will not be as lopsided this time. MissK’s Pack has guys back and a couple out. They looked better, not great, last week. But the Cards aren’t the Redskins. Cards are tough all around and rolling. Cardinals at home.

Sunday
Seahawks (10-6) Panthers (15-1) Rematch: Panthers won 27 – 23. Wilson & Beast & the D are tough. Cam & Olsen & the Cat’s D are tough too. Hard game to pick. Panthers at home.

Steelers (10-6) Broncos (12-4) Rematch: Keith’s Steelers won 34 – 27. PM looked healthy and good in the last win, Ward is back too. D Williams and A Brown (knocked out in a dirty play last week) are out and Ben’s ability to throw is in question but he is tough. Classy’s donkeys at home.

To be clear I am a RAIDER fan so my dislike for the donkeys is deep and strong. That said the Steelers played as dirty as the Bengals did last week. I do not believe in dirty play - so payback wouldn't bother me in this case. The NFL, along with players and coaches failed again IMO.

I thought "Grizzly Adams" was a pretty cool program because it was really different than most of the stuff on TV at the time. I also love animals and being out in the forests.

I just saw the Dan Haggerty "Grizzly Adams" has died. - R I P
